Exportation

L’acquisition, l’alignement et la conversion des données sont inutiles si les informations ne peuvent pas être importées en des autres logiciels. Les fonctions d’exportation permettent de créer des fichiers qui peuvent être importé en des autres logiciels.

OpticalRevEng Dental offre deux procédures d’exportations différentes : l’une Manuel et l’autre Automatique. L’exportation Manuel peut être utilisé pour tous types de projet. La fonction d’exportation automatique peut être configurée dans la fenêtre de dialogue Options.

Formats

OpticalRevEng Dental supporte:

• Acquisitions
  • 'Scan' : on crée un fichier (.cri) pour chaque image 3D acquise par le scanneur et un fichier (.scan) avec la description des données Le format peut être lu seulement par OpticalRevEng Dental et tous fichiers de numérisation doit se trouver dans un même dossier.
  • 'ZScan' : la fonction a les même type d’informations que Scan, mais les données sont comprimées en un seul fichier
• Maille
  • 'STL ASCII/Binaire' : le format dossier STL est le plus utilisé. La plus parte des logiciels 3D peuvent lire et sauvegarder des fichiers STL. Les informations de l’objet 3D ne sont pas toutes exportées, par exemple car les couleurs et les connexions entre les faces individuelles ne sont pas sauvegardées, deux logiciels pourraient lire le même fichier STL mais montrer des résultats différents.
  • 'OFF ASCII' : le format OFF génère des fichiers plutôt simples, voir [OFF Format]. Il a plus d’informations par rapport au format STL
  • 'PLY ASCII/Binaire' : le format PLY, aussi que l’OFF, a plusieurs d’informations sur les données 3D mais il n’est pas supporté par tous les logiciels
  • 'OBJ' : le format OBJ existe seulement en ASCII ; c’est le format avec le plus d’informations su les données 3D, compris la couleur, et il est compatible avec la plus parte des logiciels.

Au cas où il faudrait avoir une haute compatibilité entre les logiciels, le format le meilleur est STL. Quand on veut avoir une représentation des données très détaillée, le format le meilleur est OBJ.

Exportation Manuel

Les Acquisitions et les Mailles peuvent être sauvegardées en suivant deux procédures différentes.

Exportation de l’Objet Individuel

Pour exporter un objet individuel du projet :

1. cliquer avec la touche gauche de la souris sur l’élément dans l’Arbre du Projet
2. sélectionner Exporter dans le Menu Contextuel
3. sélectionner où on veut sauvegarder les fichiers, leur nom et leur format

Exportation de Groupes d’Objets

Pour exporter plus qu’un élément du projet en une seule fois :

1. sélectionner dans l’Arbre du Projet tous les éléments à exporter
2. dans le Menu Fichier sélectionner l’option Exporter Visible
3. sélectionner où on veut sauvegarder les fichiers, leur nom et leur format

Exportation Automatique

Pour exporter automatiquement, cliquer sur l’icône Exporter au CAO dans la Barre d’Outils Principale. Le logiciel export les données de projet nécessaires.

Profil d’Exportation

Un profil d’exportation est l’ensemble des paramètres indiquant au logiciel comme exporter les données pour un logiciel CAO spécifique.

Il est possible de modifier, d’ajouter ou de renommer les profils d’exportation dans le Panneau Options.

Quand il y a un seul profil nommé défaut le logiciel l'utilise automatiquement en appuyant sur la touche Exporter au CAO.

If more than one profile are available, a pop up will ask to select what profile to use.

By holding the Export Dialog will open and it will be possible to change the export profile only for that specific export.

Formats

The software exports 3D shapes of the acquired data, 2D images to document the articulation, and can export a thumbnail for every 3D object.

In this section it is possible select which format to use.

Check with the cad system in use which of the formats is more appropriate.

Options

Merge dies with healthy parts 

If this option is enabled the software will merge all the dies and the healthy parts and export only one file for the entire jaw; if it's disabled the software will export one file for every die and one file for the healthy parts of the jaw

Export implantPosition files 

If this option is enabled the software will export a special "implantPosition" file with the information about the alignment of an implant marker that can be imported by Exocad.

Cad Integration

Executable Path 

Select here the path to the Cad software to automatically launch it after exporting the data

Cad project extension 

Input the extension of the Cad project so the software can invoke the cad with the right project file

Auto Start Cad 

Check this box to start the Cad automatically after exporting the data

Auto Close Software 

Check this box to automatically close the scan software after exporting the data

Export Path

This section allows to choose where the exported files will be saved. There are 3 different path selections

Automatic 

The software will choose automatically the export folder. If a Cad project extension was selected, the file will be exported in the folder in which the cad project is stored, if available. If no cad project extension was selected, the file will be exported in the scan project folder

Ask 

The software will ask to define the export folder for every project

Fixed Folder 

The software will export to the same folder every time.

By checking "Auto Open Export Folder", the software will automatically open the export folder after exporting the data

File Name Generator

This section allows to choose how the software will name the exported files. There are 2 different generators

Default 

This generator will use the "Exocad" name format "projec name-reference jaw-item name-teeth.extension"

User Pattern 

This generator allows to use special tags to create file names. Each tag represents a different item.

An example of a user pattern is "%m/%p/%d/%j-%k-%t"

In a project with 2 stump on the lower jaw and an antagonist the exporter will:

• Create a folder with the name of the doctor
• Create a sub-folder with the name of the patient
• Create a sub-folder with the date
• Save the stumps as lowerjaw-stump-36.stl and lowerjaw-stump-35.stl
• Save the healthy parts as lowerjaw-healthy.stl
• Save the antagonist as upperjaw.stl

Available In

Each export profile can work in one or more different kinds of project.

The checkboxes allow to choose in which project this profile can be used.

Export Final Translation

In each system, a spacial reference for positioning of the objects is defined. Our system uses this reference:

• XY Plane as the Occlusion Plane.
• YZ plane as the Symmetric Plane.

Exocad uses this same reference system.

Many orthodontic software use the following reference:

• XZ Plane as the Occlusion Plane
• XY Plane as the Symmetric Plane

Here it is possible to select the reference system used by the CAD system in use, to shift the objects' positions in a correct view.
